FaceRun – Privacy Policy

TrueDepth Camera

FaceRun uses your mobile device’s TrueDepth camera technology to track your facial gestures. These gestures are used to control the game, like raising the eyebrow to jump the ball or showing the tongue to fire a missile. FaceRun tracks facial gestures using the front cam of the supporting devices. At the first launch of the app, user’s consent is asked to access the camera. This permission can be toggled on and off anytime at the Settings app for FaceRun. If the user prefers not to provide camera access to the app, FaceRun provides a tap-based gameplay and never access any data from TrueDepth API.

Any data retrieved from TrueDepth camera system (using ARKit technology) is used only for gameplay purposes:

  • Position of the eyebrows (up / down) and tongue (out, not out) is processed instantly. User’s gesture data is NEVER saved either locally or remotely. This data is NEVER shared with third parties. This data does not leave your device at any time.
  • The live video feed from the camera is recorded only if the user wants and approves the recording of the gameplay. The live video feed is recorded only with the gameplay using ReplayKit technology if the user provides consent. The recorded video is saved temporarily to the phone to allow the user to save or share the video. Application never takes any action on the video without user’s action. The recorded videos are deleted by the operation system (iOS) systematically and they cannot be reached by other apps unless it is saved to Photos app by the user.
  • The facial geometry can be used to apply a virtual face mask on top of the player’s face. This is disabled by default and can be activated (by selecting a mask) by the user only. The mask is used for the gameplay video recording only.
